Our Crazy Life

Well we have survived the first 2 weeks of homeschooling the big 2!  Things have gone surprisingly well AND I have not gone absolutely insane!  YAY!  We should be getting all of our curriculum in the next week or 2.  I am a little bummed it is late but considering we get all our supplies for free, i can't complain.  We are getting into a bit of a grove and i have only had 1 or 2 major freakouts (me of course, the kids are doing great).  Landon has also gone to 2 weeks of school and is loving it.  He doesn't even say goodbye when he gets to school, which oddly enough I consider it a good thing.  He has been working hard at school and comes home absolutely exhausted!

Carl and I have been working on little projects here and there but nothing big at the moment, mostly selling stuff on craigslist.  But I have been making some fun stuff on my sewing machine!  I have also been finding some random good deals on fabric so I am finally getting a good base to do projects from.  I am trying to balance time for me to do the things I am interested in (like take pictures of the things i have made a blog about them or even just cleaning the house and doing laundry) and support the kids while they do school and their activites.  I know balance is key so we will work on figuring it out.  Carl's restaurant switched to winter hours last week which means the close at 9!!  This is huge for us.  He can get home on a close around 11 or 11:30 which is amazing.  So I have been staying up late.  I am trying to see if it is worth it to go with less sleep and see my husband more.  I'll let the kids weigh in on that decision because I am sure they can tell when I get more sleep.  And further proof of my craziness since we have moved up north is Carl is fishing with some guys from work this morning. . . his day off. . . and i said he could go.

We have been going to a new church and we have really loved it.  There are tons of kids and we get to see Pammy and Silly Scott (and family) on Sunday mornings which makes everyone happy.  Both the big kids have signed up for choirs and all 3 are going to do the Wednesday night youth group.  It is so nice to have a bunch of ways for the kids to get involved.  Plus I found out about a mom's group for elementary school mom's!  I haven't felt like MOPS was the place for me once the kids got to elementary school so I am excited to try it out the next step and see!

Now for the pics!  These are all instagram pics off my cell phone.  Enjoy!

Introducing our newest family member Bella!

it's a start

i have come to realize that since we have moved i haven't been loading pictures on the computer. so for today here are some from when we first got out here. you may notice there are no pictures of me. that is totally intentional. i look so exhausted it is not even funny. this is a few pictures we took at carkeek park on a trip there with my brother and sister-in-law. we have LOVED being so close to them.

these we taken prior to zach and ellora's awesome summer haircuts.

it has been WAY too long since i posted on here. not sure if anyone still reads here but its okay! i'll keep posting just for fun. what can i say LIFE GOT CRAZY!!! we have now moved to Seattle, WA and are getting adjusted to life in the northwest. we are loving it so far! we have officially decided to homeschool our kids through an alternative learning school and we're all super excited about it (i never in a million years thought i would write that sentence). carl will go back to school this fall and start getting his computer engineering degree. i am taking a break from the photography business while we get settled and start teaching the kids. but i hope to start it back up before too long. (we had a crazy time with my job at espresso evergreen, the photography business and carl's job. we are hoping to ease ourselves back in to the craziness). so there you go. a quick post to catch everyone up!

things are about to get even more crazy around here. . .

i officially got a new part-time job today. i called on a job at a coffee shop on friday (and realized i knew the owners). filled out an application on saturday and had an interview on sunday. got a call today (monday) and start training tomorrow. i'm super excited (and only a little overwhelmed)! luckily it is opposite hours from carl's job (mostly) so we will need very little help with childcare. yay!

we decided to put our house back on the market (it has been an interesting process) and the extra income will be much needed if it takes more than a couple weeks to sell. we're praying and trusting God but thought it would be in our best interests to at least see what was out there. the photography business is doing really well but we know it won't be consistent in the winter months. so here i am. with an official job. i think this will be my first job without super flexible hours. i am super spoiled. i know.

so if you are in the area and reading this, come visit me at evergreen espresso. crazy.

i will update more later. i have been throwing around the idea of stopping this blog and only blogging on the photography blog but we will see. sorry i'm not super consistent with my posting. i am sure it will only get worse. :)
